2 min read

Padova and Monza extend the series, Lube join Modena in semifinal: Perugia and Trentino have suffered defeats in the playoff quarterfinal series.
After the difficult match in the CEV Champions League semifinals and the tie break defeat against Zenit Kazan, Perugia have suffered another defeat, with the same result. This time, they were beaten by Monza in five sets and they will have to play one more game to decide the series to claim a semifinal spot (photogallery of the match avaible).
Oleh Plotnyskiy had a good performance, scoring 29 points, while Donovan Dzavoronok added 21 points. On the other side, Wilfredo Leon was the top scorer with 23, while Aleksandar Atanasijevic had 19.
However, the biggest surprise was caused by Padova: the seventh in the standings ended the match in straight sets against Trentino, without the injured Kovacevic. Three players had the same number of points: Louati, Volpato and Torres scored 11 points each. Arron Russell and Luca Vettori were the top scorers in Trentino with 12 points each.
In the third match of quarterfinals Lube Civitanova have downed Verona to advance to the semifinals and to join Modena. Osmany Juantorena was the top scorer in Lube with 16 points, while Sokolov and Simon, MVP of the match added 15 points each and Leal ended the match with 14. On the other side Stephen Boyer scored 20 points and Matey Kaziyski 17.

Now, Modena are waiting for the winner of Perugia – Monza clash, while Lube will meet the winner of Padova – Trentino match, both scheduled on next saturday.
