France: 6/7 away victories in Round 16! Tours new leaders.

2 min read

Home field canceled, and many surprises in the midweek round of French Ligue A (Round 16).
After losing the first 3 regular season games, the reigning champions of Tours back on the top of the charts (for best set quotient) thanks to the clear success in 3 sets on the Nice field (still without the opposite Belgian Cox) and the contemporary home defeat of Rennes against Narbonne, thanks to the 24 points of Bassereau. (Photogallery of Nice-Tours here).
Defeat also for Montpellier, who collapsed at home against Toulouse after winning the first set. Particularly bad evening for the Canadian international Sclater: 4/22 in attack with 3 errors and 2 blocked.
After the clear defeat in Nantes, Chaumont back to the victory: Prandi’s side (who will not renew the contract with the Bulgarian national team), with 14 points from Cuban Yant, signs the only home success of the day by beating Sète with a clear 3-0.
Nantes instead take his third consecutive victory, by defeating Tourcoing in straight sets with another good performance of Slovak Michalovic, author of 17 points.
The away victories festival is completed with the 0-3 between Ajaccio and Poitiers (11 aces and 11 kill blocks for the guests) and the 1-3 between Paris and Cannes, with a bad evening for the home team, and very good performances by Russell (25 points and 60% in attack) and Aciobanitei for the winners (this one named MVP of the match, with 18 points and 53% in attack).
