Challenge Cup: amazing blocking display of Aracaju for Rennes in an all-French game, match in Milan postponed

1 min read

Rennes Volley 35 dominated countrymen Montpellier Castelnau UC in the first leg of the 2020 CEV Volleyball Challenge Cup quarterfinals.
The former leaders of the French Championship staged a magnificent teamā€™s blocking display: they set up as many as 22 winning blocks, of which Brazilian Leandro Santos ā€œAracajuā€œ was deserved for 10! His compatriot Rafael AraĆŗjo was the top scorer for Rennes with 18 points, and he was also great in the block (6).
The match between the Italian Allianz Powervolley Milano and Estonian Saaremaa VC was postponed due to the decision of the authorities in the Lombardy region to close all sporting, but also public events, until March 1. The European Volleyball Confederation rescheduled this match for March 4, only a day before the rematch. Both clubs agreed to this solution, and both match, first and second leg, will be played in Estonia.
