Bruno reaches final decision to return to Brazil, Taubaté his new team?

2 min read

The Brazilian volleyball superstar Bruno Rezende “Bruninho” definitely decided to return to his home country for the next season.
Prior to the Final Four of the Italian Cup played in Bologna last weekend, the 33-year-old setter announced the return to Brazil after three years, stating that he will talk to the management of Cucine Lube Civitanova during the event about his decision. Given what he stated in the podcast for Radio Arancia, one of the best setters in the world is now even closer to play in his home country next season. Bruno even mentioned the name of the club to whom he’s close to signing.

Basically, yes, things are much clearer. A few details are missing for my return to Brazil. I can’t say it was my last Italian Cup because it’s not like I’m about to end my career. Yes, it’s the last for this year, next year it’s almost certain that I won’t be here, but for the future, we can never say never,” Bruno stressed and added that EMS Taubaté Funvic (currently experience financial crisis) have the biggest chance to hire him:
It’s the greatest possibility, but there’s also another club. I’m still not sure. I don’t want to say it’s definitive, because I haven’t signed anything yet but things are in a quite advanced phase. I’ll go back to Brazil in a delicate moment of its volleyball, but I don’t want to be hypocritical and say: I want to go back to try to help Brazilian volleyball, it’s my choice, it’s for family reasons. Some things happened a few months ago and I want to be a little closer to my family, to stay more at home.
