Jastrzębski Węgiel don’t want to play the match against Itas Trentino, valid for the quarterfinals of the 2020 CEV Volleyball Champions League, in Italy. Jastrzębski President Adam Gorol sent a letter to the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) on the matter.
They want to postpone the match or to have it moved outside of Italy.
The encounter is scheduled for March 5 in Trento, the city that’s located in northern Italy, near the Lombardy region, which is considered the area of the biggest coronavirus outbreak in Europe and whose authorities declared a ban on holding all public gatherings, including sports.
So far, more than 650 coronavirus infections have been reported all over Italy, and 17 people have died.
