Poland: rumors confirmed – Wlazły officially joins Gdańsk

Rumors are confirmed! The Polish club Trefl Gdańsk announced that one of the icon of the country’s volleyball, Mariusz Wlazły, is their new player.
The opposite moved to the team from PGE Skra Bełchatów, whose colors he defended for 17 years and won nine Polish Championship titles, seven Polish Cups, and four Super Cups.
The 36-year-old player is really an icon of the Polish volleyball: among numerous individual awards, some stand out, such as MVP and Best Opposite Spiker of the 2014 FIVB World Championship, MVP of the 2012 CEV Champions League and Best Spiker of this competition in 2008, and best player of the Polish league in 2006, 2008, 2010, 2011 and 2014.

A few days ago, the team based in Gdańsk announced the signing of the player who wore their jersey between 2014 and 2018, Mateusz Mika. The 29-year-old outside hitter, who was Wlazły’s teammate in winning the 2014 World Championship, came from Indykpol AZS Olsztyn.
