Poland: ZAKSA shorten list of invincible teams by one more name, COVID postpones 4 games

In the big match of the 5th round of the 2020/21 Polish volleyball Championship, Grupa Azoty ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle downed Trefl Gdańsk.
For the second round in a row, ZAKSA broke some team’s invincibility: in fact, a few days ago, they did it also to Jastrzębski Węgiel! Now, they have done it to Gdańsk, on the road, in Round 5.
The players from the Gdańsk team, who had a 3-0 score prior to the yesterday match, didn’t manage to win even a set although they fought hard: 3-0 (25:21, 25:20, 25:23). Thus, Nikola Grbić’s side maintain the status of an undefeated team with a perfect 5-0. Łukasz Kaczmarek scored 17 points for ZAKSA, while Jakub Kochanowski made 4 winning blocks. Bartłomiej Lipiński made 11 points for Trefl.
Despite it don’t stop ZAKSA, the COVID-19 have reduced the program of Round 5 of Plusliga regular season to the bone.
