Jastrzębski Węgiel beat Trefl Gdańsk at home by a 3-0 (25:19, 25:19, 33:31) in the last remained match of the eighth round of the 2020/21 Polish 2020/21 PlusLiga regular season.
The hosts played very well and had a good test before the start of the 2nd Round of the CEV Champions League qualifiers, scheduled for next week. Gdansk lost the third match in a row – all to the title contenders: ZAKSA, Belchatow, and now also Jastrzębski. For the Jastrzębie-Zdrój side, this game was the first after nearly a month.
Moroccan Mohamed Al Hachdadi put down 19 points through 75 % (18/24) for the winners, while Frenchman Yacine Louati made 71 % reception (29 % perfect). Mateusz Mika scored 12 points for Gdansk, while Mateusz Janikowski had 77 % reception (15 % perfect).
This duel and the duel between VERVA Warszawa ORLEN Paliwa and GKS Katowice (held on October 18) were the only ones in the schedule of this round. All the other matches were postponed for COVID…
