Mevza League: Waldviertel surrenders after an amazing 5-sets-battle against Calcit Kamnik

On Wednesday Union Raiffeisen Waldviertel won the first Mevza League season duel with Calcit Volley Kamnik in five sets. On Sunday evening, in the second leg in Zwettl, the Slovenes turned the tables, by winning with the same results, 3:2 (18:25, 25:13, 23:25, 25:20, 15: 6), and took fourth place from the hosts. Top scorers of the match were Daan Streutker (20) and Marek Sulc (14) for the home team, while Mitja Gasparini and Martin Kosmina tallied 26 and 21 respectively for the winners. The guests scored more aces (7 vs. 3) and block points (14 vs. 10).
On Friday, in Slovenian derby, OK Calcit Volley Kamnik celebrated a hard-fought 3-2 (22:25, 25:21, 23:25, 25:19, 15:12) home win over OK Merkur Maribor.
