EuroVolley 2021 Qualifiers: Croatia and Belarus join Portugal, Slovakia, the Netherlands, Greece, Spain and Montenegro to the Finals

On Sunday, Croatia and Belarus claimed their tickets to the final round of CEV EuroVolley 2021, securing a 3-2 and 3-0 victories over the Netherlands and Norway respectively in Pool A and G.
After the last day of play in all the pools, all the teams that will be joining the top Europe squads in September became known: Portugal, Slovakia, The Netherlands,
Greece, Bulgaria, Turkey, North Macedonia, Latvia, Spain, Montenegro, plus Croatia and Belarus.

In what can be called the match of the day, the Netherlands and Croatia delivered a real Volleyball spectacle in Pool A that lasted more than two hours (131 minutes). Croatia immediately wins the set that was needed for the qualification (comeback from 24:22) and then also manages to beat the Netherlands ar 3-2, which in any case was already on the top of Pool. Wouter Ter Maat became top scorer of the match with 21 points, while for Croatia Filip Sestan and Ivan Raic made 17 each.

Wessel Keemnik, Player of the Netherlands: “We wanted to win, we wanted to play a good game and prepare also for VNL. It’s a pity we couldn’t win but the main goal is achieved, and we are very happy for going to the Finals of #EuroVolleyM”

Tsimafei Zhukouski, Captain of Croatia: “I cannot express my feelings, we are very happy. We did a great job, I want to thank all the people in Croatia for believing in us. Congratualtions to the Netherlands, too”

In Pool E, irrelevant victories for Romania and Switzerland. In Pool F Azerbaijan beats Georgia, while Montenegro stole the first place of the Pool to Greece which makes turnover (both teams were already qualified).
In Pool G Belarus closes the qualification speech by overwhelming Norway, while Portugal ends undefeated, also winning against Hungary.

The draws for the Eurovolley 2021 Pools are scheduled for Thursday 20th.
