Italy: advances of Round 11 – Lube sweep Monza in big match, Trentino end own 2-game losing streak
3 min readTwo advances valid of 2021/22 SuperLega Credem Banca Round 11 were played today. An amazing serving display of Lucarelli helps Lube sweep Monza, while, by beating Ravenna without great problems, Trentino end own 2-game losing streak.
Cucine Lube Civitanova have proven too strong for Vero Volley Monza.
The Italian champions are still alive, and they didnāt forget to play volleyball on a high level as one would think after two defeats they suffered in five games played in the competition. After a straight sets (but not easy) win on the field of Powervolley Milano just a couple of days ago, and the recovery of Osmany Juantorena turned to be decisive in moral terms for Lube, who now take the second win in a row, doing it against Monza, the leaders in the charts before todayās match, the same team that eliminated them from the recent Super Cup semi-final.
3-0 is the final result, partially 25:21, 25:17, 25:16. Brazilian Ricardo Lucarelli was just brutal from the service line today, as he scored eight aces (!) and was also the most prolific player for the winners (and for the match) with 18 points!
On the other match valid also as advance of Round 11, Itas Trentino put an end to their own two-game losing streak, by beating Consar RCM Ravenna in straight sets in a one-way match (16:25, 23:25, 12:25). Italian national
team duo Giulio Pinali and Daniele Lavia were decisive today, first was the top-scorer of the winning side with 16 points, while Lavia set up five blocks.
