2 min read

Two matches in Plusliga were
played on Sunday.
Jastrzębski Węgiel prevailed over Asseco Resovia Rzeszów in a big classic in a match valid for Round 18.
A very interesting encounter happened in Jastrzębie-Zdrój, as Resovia broke the series of wins of Jastrzębski without losing a set (10 straight-set wins in a row, counting all competitions), but the Polish champions took all 3 points and achieved their 11th successive victory (the 7th successive victory in PlusLiga).
This match was the first serious test for Resovia since the arrival of Argentine head coach Marcelo Méndez, after which they have scored 3 wins in a row.
They lose the first set wasted a 21-23 lead, and also the very balanced second, to dominate in the third, but then collapsing in the fourth on MVP’s Clevenot turn from the service line, that launch the winners from 13-11 to 17-11, proving
a drain on Cebulj and Szerszen’s reception (who replaced the Slovenian) and Deroo.
A match very balanced in attack, with 55% and 40% efficiency for Jastrzebski, and 54% and 39% efficiency for Resovia but, despite the same numbers of aces, 8-8, the winners missed 7 services less (14-21). The Czech Jan Hadrava top-scored Jastrzębski with 21 points.

GKS Katowice staged quite a sensation in Round 16, as they surprised the title contenders and 4th-placed side Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie, sweeping them 3-0, and moved up from the 10th to the 8th place in the charts.
In first set, Katowice saved 3 set points, surpassing with Rousseaux’s block (MVP) over Kovacevic (27-26),
to close with Hain (28-26) after an error in reception by Kovacevic.
