CEV Cup: Guaguas Las Palmas last quarterfinalist

Now all quarterfinalist of 2021/22 CEV Cup are know: the last team qualified was Spain’s CDV Guaguas Las Palmas, who defeats today at home in 74 minutes Belgium’s Volley Haasrode Leuven in straight sets (27:25, 25:21, 25:20) in the rematch of Round of 16 of the CEV Volleyball Cup 2022, played a week later than planned after the postponement of the match.
The islanders thus prevented the rivals to make a comeback after losing the first leg with the same result and sneaked into the Top-8 where they will face one of the favorites for the trophy, Italy’s Vero Volley Monza.
Cuban Yadrian Escobar highlighted Guaguas tonight with 15 points, while his compatriot Yosvany Hernández made 74% reception (19 digs, 1 error, 47% excellent).
