Union Raiffeisen Waldviertel win first duel of the “Best-of-7” final series of Austrian Volley League Men against SK Zadruga Aich/Dob with a great four sets (30:28, 25:23, 16:25, 25:23) battle.
The ÖVV Cup winner won a very exciting game in front of their home fans in a sold-out Stadthalle Zwettl.
Top scorers of the match were Daulton Sinoski (20), Samuel Taylor-Parks, Audrius Knasas (14 each) and Marek Sulc (10) for the winners, and Xander Ketrzynski (28), Marino Marelic (14), Michal Hruska and Marek Gergely (8 each) for Aich/Dob.

The three-time champions Aich/Dob made their appearance in the final series for the 11th time in a row, while Waldviertel, in the other hand, are fighting for the title only for the third time, after 2018 and 2019 (both final series lost against the same rivals, Aich/Dob!).
In the other game of the day, UVC Weberzeile Ried secured fifth place after a home victory against VBK Wörther-See-Löwen Klagenfurt 3-1 (27:29, 25:14, 25:21, 25:18).
The hosts were absolutely better in blocking, with 11 points from this element against 5, but above all in attack, with 61% of team performance against 40%. Captain Tomasz Rutecki was the most prolific player today with 20 points, 2 aces and 60%, while Felix Breit also contributed with 5 winning blocks.
