Italy: what a comeback! Modena defeat Perugia on the road in Game 3 to take 2-1 lead in semifinal series!

An unstoppable Abdel-Aziz scored 39 points, and Leo Shoes PerkinElmer Modena lead 2-1 against Sir Safety Conad Perugia!

The home factor continues to be a crazy variable: third match and third success of a visiting side!
4th-seed Modena will have the chance to close the series of the 2021/22 Italian SuperLega Credem Banca playoff semi-final against absolute regular season leaders on Sunday, in front of their own fans.
As in Game 1, the guys around Andrea Giani, still without Yoandy Leal who’ll return in time for the next game after the reduction of the 4-game disqualification to 2 games, prevailed at PalaBarton, recovering after a 2-set deficit.
Among the controversies still alive for the Leal-Travica-Ngapeth case, the two rivals gave life to a spectacular Game 3 of the series in which the 4th set lasted for 42 minutes, and in which the Dutch bomber Nimir Abdel-Aziz showed an incredible display of 39 points, including 5 aces (plus 1 block and 59% in attack…always present in decisive moments of the game, and above all in final rush of fourth set). Of course, he was top scorer and MVP of the match.

About numbers, Modena was slightly better in attack (50% vs. 56%), aces (7 vs.8) and blocks (7 vs.8).
Very good also Ngapeth with 21 points and 51% in attack while, on the other side of the net, Rychlicki made 20 points and Leon 18. Not a good day for Anderson with only 12 points and 35% in attack, but author of 3 winning blocks.
