France: Tourcoing down Montpellier. Sète – Plessis Robinson 2-3

Other two games of French Ligue A Round 9 were played today.
In first one, Plessis-Robinson won at tie break on the field of Sète, partially 22:25, 25:23, 27:25, 16:25 and 16:18. Without USA National Team member Kyle Russell, the hosts wasted a 2-1 lead, but this is block the major weapon of their rivals, with 15 points from this element at the end of the game, 6 by an unstoppable Samuel Jeanlys, who closed the match as top scorer with 31 points through 52% in attack. De Leon also contributed with 24 points while Cheikh Diop put down 27 balls for Sète.
On the other game, a great Tourcoing needed only three sets (25:16, 25:23, 25:20) to down defending champions Montpellier, to put an end to their winning streak in Ligue A. The hosts played a good performance in attack, with 55%, while Brazilian opposite Renan Buiatti (MVP of the game with 57% in attack and 1 block) and Canadian outside hitter Ryley Barnes were the most prolific players with 14 and 13 points, respectively.
Theo Faure, top scorer of the match, tallied 16 points for Montpellier and he was the only player in double digit among titleholders.
