Turkey: leaders Halkbank down Fenerbahçe at tie break. Three points for Cizre and Spor Toto (3-1 over Galatasaray)

Other three games of 2022/23 AXA Sigorta Efeler Ligi Round 11 were played today.

The day started with Cizre Belediyespor, who defeat Hatay B. Sehir Bld at home by 3-1 (25:20, 18:25, 25:21, 25:21), and Spor Toto, who down a quite bad Galatasaray HDI Sigorta with the same result (20:25, 27:25, 25:23, 25:19).
Halkbank have returned to the top of the standings, though provisionally, after a 2-3 win on the field of Fenerbahçe HDI Sigorta (25:22, 18:25, 25:23, 21:25, 10:15).

Fenerbahçe lose to any of the title favorites in the competition at this moment, as well as first leg of CEV Cup on Wednesday and, consequently, their title hopes don’t seem real at the moment. After losing to Galatasaray HDI Sigorta and Arkas Spor earlier, they fell short to Halkbak in a duel of the last season’s bronze and silver medalists.
The Ankara side has provisionally returned to the top of the standings with a record of 10-1 and 28 points, which is two points more than Ziraat Bankkart, who have yet to play their match in this round, tomorrow,
on the field of Altekma (currently No.12).
The Dutchman Nimir Abdel-Aziz was Halkbank’s most prolific player in the big match today, scoring 22 points, while Volkan Döne had 76% reception (17 digs, 1 error, 65% perfect). Youngster Kaan Gürbüz scored 24 points for Fenerbahçe, who remained sixth in the current charts.
