Mevza League: Mursa down Komarno after 2 hours of play, all easy for Aich/Dob

Main Round of 2022/23 MEVZA League continues today with first three games of 2023…actually two, as the duel between Croatia’s OK Mladost Ribola Kaštela and Austria’s Union Raiffeisen Waldviertel has been postponed (like the one scheduled tomorrow in Austria, against OK Merkur Maribor from Slovenia).

In first match of the day, Croatia’s MOK Mursa Osijek needed five sets and more than two hours of play to down Rieker UJS Komárno from Slovakia, partially it was 27:25, 23:25, 25:18, 19:25 and 18:16.
The winners were decisive from the service line, scoring 12 aces, 4 by top scorer Stanislav Lyzanets, author of 24 points at the end of the game, while Marek Gergely put down as many as 30 points on the losing side.

If previous game has been solved only at tie break, Austria’s SK Zadruga AICH/DOB needed only 1 hours and 14 minutes to down Croatia’s HAOK Mladost Zagreb in front of their home fans – 3-0 (26:24, 25:21, 25:11). No players on the losing side ended the game in double digit, while Stefan Kaibald tallied 17 points for the winners.
