Italy: regular season is over! Taranto defeated, but remain in Superlega! Third place for Trento, relegation for Siena

Regular season of 2022/23 Superlega CredemBanca is officially over today with last games of Round 22 or, if you prefer, Round 11 of second leg after yesterday’s advance between WithU Verona and Top Volley Cisterna, won by the hosts in four sets.

This result brought the last virdict already yesterday, as Cisterna said goodbye to playoff.

With all teams defined, last Round continued today with just a couple of verdicts to reveal, and all the winners added three points to their final standings: absolute leaders Sir Safety Susa Perugia destroy Cucine Lube Civitanova in straight sets (25:16, 25:19, 25:20), and the same did, against all predictions, Itas Trentino against Valsa Group Modena in a clash decisive the second placed, that turned to be one-sided (25:18, 25:20, 25:22).
Straight sets win also for Allianz Milano, already qualified to playoffs, over Gioiella Prisma Taranto (25:21, 26:24, 25:18), but the fate smile to the losing side as Vero Volley Monza down Emma Villas Aubay Siena (25:19, 25:22, 25:22) and condemned them to relegations.
Close the picture the victory of italian Cup winners Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza over Pallavolo Padova, who already celebrated their stay Superlega. 3-1 was the final result, partially 25:15, 18:25, 25:21 and 25:21.
