Italy: a Piacenza still alive down Trento in straight sets. Milano take the lead vs. Civitanova by beating titleholders with the same result!

The exciting Quarterfinals series of 2022/23 Superlega Credem Banca continued today witu both games valid for Game 3.

Allianz Milano continued their extraordinary path also on the field of titleholders Cucine Lube Civitanova, by beating them even in straight sets (23:25, 18:25, 24:26) to take the first step towards an historic final, as well as the chance to play a possible decider on Saturday, April 22, in front of their home fans.
After a better start of the hosts, Milano is great to recover taking first set with the minimum gap, while the second is dominated from start to finish with 5 aces, 67% in attack and 7 punti by Agustin Loser who, at the end of the match, will be named MVP.
Better start for Milano also in third set, but Lube react also thanks to the new entry Gabi Garcia, until taking the lead 19-18. In the final, however, are the player of Allianz Milano who claim two match points and managed to close the game at the second attempt.
Among the hosts, only Nikolov reached a double digit with 11 to his name, while his team close with 52% in attack, 2 aces and 3 winning blocks.
For Milano, on the other hand, and with a great performance of setter Paolo Porro, four players in double digit: top scorer Patry with 14 points, MVP Loser author of 13, the same number of Ishikawa, and 10 for Mergarejo. Good numbers also in attack, with 56% of team performance, from the service line, with 8 aces, and in blocking, with 6 points from this element.

Gas Sales Bluenergy Volley Piacenza is still alive and, after the 2-0 lead in series of Itas Trentino, managed to win on the field of the rivals in just three sets(23:25, 22:25, 20:25) in 1 hours and an half of play.
It was a great team performance for the players around hear coach Massimo Botti, able to recover from 21-18 both in first and in second set, and to close the game.
All easy, on the other hand, in third set, with an almost perfect performance above all in attack and reception.
Leal and Lucarelli were decisive today with 4 winning blocks each, the same Lucarelli who close the game as top scorer with 22 points including the two aces in a row that closed first set.
