After the victories collected by China and the hosts Japan in Pool 1 in Nagoya, Pool 2 of 2023 Volleyball Nations League started with the great straight sets win of Argentina against World Champions Italy, who played without several big names, 0-3 (22:25, 23:25, 18:25).
In Ottawa, Canada, Italy wasted several occasions in first two sets (13-8 in first and 14-11 in the second one). Only opposite Yuri RomanΓ² ended the game in double digit with 14 points but also 6 errors, while Leandro Mosca closed with a positive 8 points, including 3 winning blocks.
On the winning side, setter Luciano De Cecco, was decisive from the service line in first and third sets, but the real man of the match was opposite Bruno Lima, who ended the game with 17 points to his name through an impressive 77% in attack and, above all, without errors!
He was well supported by Vicentin and Palonsky, who also contributed with 12 and 10 points respectively, while Agustin Loser sets up 4 winning blocks.
