African Volleyball Championship kicks off today in Cairo!

The prestigious African Nations Volleyball Championship kicks off today, September 3, 2023, in Cairo, Egypt.
The championship, organized by CAVB, the African Volleyball Confederation, is the official competition for senior men’s national volleyball teams across the continent.
The tournament will culminate in a grand finale on September 14, 2023.

Teams have been divided into four pools for the first phase of the tournament, competing to secure the best positions before the knockout stages.

Pool A: Egypt, Burundi, Algeria
Pool B: Tunisia, Mali, Tanzania, Chad
Pool C: Cameroon, Kenya, Ghana, Libya
Pool D: Morocco, Rwanda, Senegal, Gambia

On paper, Egypt is the clear favorite taking advantage also by home advantage.
However, Tunisia, Morocco, and Cameroon are also considered strong contenders.
