In a decisive clash in Pool A in Rio De Janeiro, the hosts Brazil beats Italy at tie break to secure spot in Paris 2024 Olympic Games!
Brazil triumphed in a thrilling five-set match at the iconic Maracanãzinho stadium on Sunday, closing the clash with the score of 3-2 (25:23, 23:25, 15:25, 25:17, 15:11).

In Pool B, USA ended as leaders after a thrilling win over Japan
They secured an undefeated top spot in Tokyo’s Pool B beating the hosts 3-2 (25:19, 22:25, 19:25, 25:23, 15:12) at the Yoyogi National Stadium on Sunday.
In any case, both teams had previously qualified for next year’s Olympics, and the American victory is worth a final pool standings of 7-0 and 20 points, while Japan finishes second with a 5-2 win-loss record and 16 points.
Notable performances included outside hitter Thomas Jaeschke for the USA with 19 points and Japanese opposite Kento Miyaura, top scorer of the match with 27 points.

Initially, Belgium was in a favorite position to accompany pool winners Poland to the Olympics, but their unexpected five-set defeat – 2-3 (21:25, 25:23, 25:21, 22:25, 13:15) to Bulgaria opened the door for their pursuers Canada.
The Canadians seized this chance, comfortably defeating Mexico in a 3-0 (25:20, 25:21, 25:15) shutout.
This will be Canada’s sixth Olympic appearance, having previously secured a best finish of fourth place in 1984.
Bulgaria’s captain Tsvetan Sokolov stood out in their match against Belgium, scoring an impressive amount of 27 points while, for Canada, Eric Loeppky and Stephen Maar led their team to victory against Mexico with 16 and 12 points respectively.
In other irrilevant games of the day, Argentina dominated the Netherlands 3-0, moving them up the table, while Poland managed to keep their unbeaten streak by beating hosts China in a tight five-set match.
The drama-filled day in Xi’an has set the stage for an exciting Olympic showdown in Paris next year.
