In an electrifying showdown at Ankara’s TVF Başkent Volleyball Hall, Ziraat Bankkart emerged victorious against Halkbank to take the prestigious 2023 Men’s Turkish Super Cup.
This is the third trophy in club’s history.
The battle between the defending Turkish Ziraat Bankkart and Turkish Cup winners Halkbank, ended in four sets and, after a slow start losing the first set 22-25, Ziraat dominatet the subsequent sets with the scores of 31-29, 25-19, and 25-23.
Bomber Wouter Ter Maat, the
man of the match, who also secured the title of Most Valuable Player, scored 26 points which included an impressive 61% attack success rate, 2 block points, and even the decisive ace.
He was well supported by U.S. star Matthew Anderson, who contributed with 18 points, 48% in attack rate and 4 blocks.
Despite the loss, Earvin Ngapeth with Halkbank’s jersey and Nimir Abdel-Aziz stood out, each scoring 21 points. The first one had 59% attack success and an ace serve, while Dutch bomber had 49% attack rate, 1 block point, and 2 aces.
