Round of 16 of 2023/24 CEV Cup continued today with other two games and other two teams who joined Arkas Izmir, Rio Duero Soria and Nantes to the next stage of the competition.
The first one, and with predictions respected, was Turkish powerhouse Fenerbahçe PRL Istanbul, who easily won against The Netherlands’ Draisma Dynamo Apeldoorn, 3-0 (25:13, 25:17, 25:22) after just 69 minutes of play. In a game dominated above all from the service line, with 11 aces to 5, and in attack, with 67% of team performance to 39%, Yigit Gülmezoglu led the score with 12 points.
Despite a 2-3 (25:20, 23:25, 26:24, 16:25, 13:15) home defeat against Germany’s SWD Powervolleys Düren, also Greece AONS Milon NEA Smyrni Athens progress to the quarterfinals.
