Thanks to the four sets home win in first leg, a week ago, after winning first two sets in Italy against Mint Vero Volley Monza, Poland’s Projekt Warszawa, currently at third place in Plusliga, became the winners of 2023/24 CEV Challenge Cup!

For the team from country’s capital, this was first European trophy in club’s history, and second Challege Cup for Poland after the one won in 2012 by Częstochowa against the same Warszawa!
Either way, a well-deserved success for the team coached by Piotr Graban which, also in second leg, showed a great play above all in attack, with 49% of team performance, and blocking, scoring 14 points from this element, 6 only in first set, against the hosts’ only 5.
Monza, in front of 3242 volleyball enthusiasts, including several fans from Poland, Legavolley President Massimo Righi and volleyball legend Andrea Giani, now head coach of France National Team, really fought only in first set, ended overtime with a monster block from Kevin Tillie on Stephen Maar, 25-27, while, from the second set, the visiting side proved to be better in all elements, also taking advantage from the bad day of Maar himself (only 5 points through 30% in attack) and Arthur Szwarc (4 through 33%).
One of the men of the match was opposite Bartlomiej Boladz, who closed the game with 13 points through 73% in attack in just two sets, including the attack and the block that were worth 12-22 in second set and the consequent trophy, but great game also for Yurii Semeniuk, named MVP of the match with 10 points through 60% in attack, 1 ace and 3 winning blocks, and setter Jan Firlej.
Top scorer of the game a player with the jersey of Monza, Nik Mujanovič, with 17 points through 60% in attack, including 1 ace and 1 block.
