In the first one, Exact Systems Hemarpol Częstochowa almost wasted a 2-0 suffering GKS Katowice’s comeback but, eventually, managed to win the game with the score of 3-2 (25:21, 25:19, 22:25, 21:25, 16:14), after a fifth set ended overtime.
Top scorer and MVP of the match Dawid Dulski, author of an impressive 34 points with 4 aces, 1 block and 53% in attack, and behind him only Rafał Sobański, with 13 points to his name, Bartłomiej Janus and Damian Kogut, who added 10 each for the winners, while Lukas Vasina was the most prolific player on the losing side with 29 points including 3 aces, 1 block and 58% in attack.
Something similar happened also in the second game of the day, in which Polish Cup winners Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie had no problems to take first two sets on the field of Trefl Gdańsk, earning a 0-2 lead, but then suffered the hosts’ comeback, to eventually closed the game at tie break, 2-3 (11:25, 22:25, 25:23, 25:22, 11:15), led in score once again by opposite Karol Butryn, top scorer of the match with 24 points to his name through 57% in attack, 2 winning blocks and 1 ace, supported by Bartosz Kwolek who added 19. Kewin Sasas and Jan Franchi Martinez were the protagonists of Gdańsk’s comeback with 16 points each.
Libero Luke Perry was named MVP of the match.
In the evening, Asseco Resovia Rzeszów celebrated a hard-fought straight sets victory on the field of PGE GiEK Skra Bełchatów in a big classic of Polish volleyball, partially 22:25, 23:25 and 24:26.
Stephen Boyer earned MVP award with 15 points to his name through 54% in attack and 1 ace, the same number of points of Bartłomiej Lipiński among the hosts (52% in attack with 1 ace and 1 block).
Round 24 will close tomorrow with last two scheduled games.
Leaders Jastrzębski Węgiel will face BOGDANKA LUK Lublin, while Ślepsk Malow Suwałki will welcome Projekt Warszawa.
