Ukraine triumph in CEV Golden League after defeating Croatia in final. 3rd place for Czech Republic

Despite missing key players Oleh Plotnytskyi and Vasyl Tupchii, Ukraine secured the victory in 2024 CEV Golden League, overcoming the previously undefeated Croatia and a great Czech Republic, thus dominating the finals.
In the semi-finals, Ukraine convincingly defeated Czech Republic, setting the stage for an intense final against Croatia, who won against Estonia on Saturday after a thrilling tie break.
The final match, held in Osijek’s Gradski Vrt, saw Ukraine overcome Croatia 3-1 (23:25, 25:19, 28:26, 25:19) in an exciting 134-minute showdown, handing to the rivals their first defeat of the season.
Croatia had a strong start, leading early in the first set and securing a well-deserved 25-23 win.
However, Ukraine bounced back in the second set with a 25-19 victory.
The third set was fiercely contested, with Ukraine edging out the rivals overtime, 28-26 while, in decisive fourth set, they sealed their triumph with a clear 25-19.
Both teams will compete in the FIVB Challenger Cup in China, aiming for a spot in the prestigious Volleyball Nations League.
Previously, Czech Republic down Estonia with the score of 2-3 (25:20, 22:25, 33:31, 25:27, 12:15) to secure the Bronze Medal.
