First Leg Games of 2024/25 CEV Cup 32th Finals started today with first three games in which three teams took first step towards next stage of the competition after winning their respective matches without major problems.
VaLePa Sastamala from Finland easily defeated Montenegro’s Budva after just 58 minutes of play with the score of 3-0 (25:22, 25:11, 25:12), led by Urpo Sivula and Aleksi Muukkonen, top scorers of the match with 19 and 18 points respectively.
All easy also for North Macedonia’s VC Strumica, who trampled over Fino Kaposvar from Hungary also with a clean 3-0 (26:19, 25:23, 25:19), led in score by bomber Nikola Gjorgiev, who scored today 18 points through 63% in attack and 3 winning blocks.
Straight sets home win also for Cyprus’ Omonia Nicosia over Belarus’ OK Radnik Bijeljina, 3-0 (25:23, 25:22, 25:16), while Estonia’s Selver x Taltech Tallinn needed four sets and more than two hours of play to prevail over Slovenia’s OK i-Vent Maribor, 3-1 (22:25, 25:21, 27:25, 25:23). Lincoln Williams scored as many as 32 points for the winners, resulting the absolute man of the match (with 2 aces, 3 winning blocks and 51% in attack).
