After the advance played yesterday, in which Chaumont won big match against Tours by 3-1, Round 4 of 2024/25 Marmara Spike League continued today with other 4 games, two of them ended at tie break.
The day started with the away win of Tourcoing of the field of still winless Plessis Robinson, 2-3 (21:25, 25:16, 25:22, 20:25, 8:15), but who earned their first points of the season.
In a game with lot of ups and downs in both sides, and with similar numbers at the end of the match, Ignacio Luengas left the court as top scorer with 22 points for the winners including 3 aces, 2 winning blocks and 74% in attack. Pedro Molina was the most prolific player for the hosts with 17 points to his name.
First seasonal win for Narbonne, who celebrated a similar tie break win over Toulouse, 3-2 (15:25, 25:23, 25:20, 18:25, 15:12), in front of more than 2000 home fans at Narbonne Arena. Although the rivals performed an excellent game in attack (73% at the end of the match), Narbonne prevailed after 2 hours and 15 minutes of play led in score by Casey Schouten top scorer of the match with 23 points to his name through 65% in attack and 1 block, well supported by Liam Patte and Lisandro Zanotti, who added 16 each.
The other two games ended in straight sets, both in favor of the home team.
After dominating first two sets, Nice prevailed over Paris, rejecting the rival’s’ attempts to re-open the game in third set, led in score by Simon Hirsch, top scorer among the winners with 15 points to his name through 44% in attack and 4 of his team’s 12 winning blocks.
Double digit also for a great Merrick McHenry, who added 12 through 73% in attack and 4 blocks too, Nooa Marttila and Alexandros Raptis, with 11 and 10 respectively.
Nik Mujanovic was the only player in double digit for Paris, with 17 points. 3-0 was the final result, partially 25:16, 25:20 and 26:24.

Close the picture the straight sets win of French Cup winners Montpellier over newcomers Cannes, 3-0 (25:17, 25:23, 25:22), who struggled a lot in attack, without players in double digit, including bomber Reda Haikal who left the court with only 7 points through 25% in attack and 1 block.
For the winners, Dimitar Dimitrov was once again decidive scoring 18 points through 56% in attack, 1 ace and 2 block.
Montpellier fly temporarily to the top of the standings, at least until tomorrow, when Sète will welcome Poitiers in a game that will close Round 4.
