Sir Susa Vim Perugia triumph over Cucine Lube Civitanova in a 2024/25 Superlega Credem Banca semifinal Game 2 thriller, claiming a 2-0 lead in best-of-five series after defeating the rivals 3-2 in a nail-biting five-set match ended with the score of 2-3 (21:25, 25:18, 23:25, 25:21, 10:15).
Perugia’s aggressive play, led by MVP Oleh Plotnytskyi, who scored 15 points to his name including as many as 7 aces (3 in a row at the start of tie break), and top scorer Wassim Ben Tara, who added 23, made the difference despite strong performances from Civitanova’s Bottolo and Lagumdzija, each scoring 17 points.
Game 3 is set for April 16 in Perugia, with Civitanova who must win to stay in the race for the championship, while a victory for Perugia, after this one and a straight sets win in Game 1, would seal their spot in the finals.
Meanwhile, Piacenza will face Trentino tomorrow, on Sunday, April 13.
