Polish national team outside hitter Aleksander Śliwka is officially out of the third week of the Volleyball Nations League 2025 in Gdańsk due to a right foot injury suffered during Tuesday’s training.
He landed awkwardly after a collision with a teammate, injuring his ankle and he was taken to a Gdańsk hospital where tests confirmed no fracture.
He has since returned to the team hotel.
The Polish Volleyball Federation has confirmed in a statement that Śliwka will not participate in the upcoming matches against Iran, Cuba, Bulgaria, and France.
Recall that Poland currently ranks second in the VNL standings behind Brazil.
