After the advance played yesterday, in which Montpellier won on the field of Poitiers in straight sets, Second Round of 2025/26 Marmara Spike League continued today with the clash between Tourcoing and Paris, won by the home time after a hard fought 3-0 (30:28, 27:25, 25:16).
After first two thrilling sets, in which both sides fought hard until last points, in third one the team from country’s capital collapsed, and the winners dominated from start to finish.
Setter Bruno Dias earned MVP honors also contributing with 3 points, while Ignacio Luengas led the charge with 17 points through 55% in attack and 1 ace. Double digit also for Jan Martinez Franchi, who added 12, Captain Simon Roehrig, who tallied 11 and Venislav Antov with 10. Tom Koops, Vuk Kulpinac and François Huetz all scored 11 points for Paris.
Second Round will close tomorrow with the last five games: Cannes will open volleyball Saturday facing St-Nazaire, Toulouse will welcome Nice, Plessis-Robinson will face Tours, Sète will play against Narbonne, while newcomers Ajaccio will welcome Chaumont, surprisingly defeated in Round 1 on Tuesday.
