Champions League: second week continues – tie break win for Halkbank, Perugia and Montpellier. Civitanova sweep Leuven

Second week of 2025/26 CEV Champions League continued today was a night full of actions with four thrilling games across Europe.
In Pool B, Halkbank Ankara battled past Galatasaray HDI Istanbul in a gripping all-Turkish derby that ended at tie break, 3-2 (25:18, 25:19, 18:25, 35:37, 18:16).
After almost wasting a two-set lead, Halkbank regrouped in the tie-break and finally closed out a marathon encounter.
Reigning champions Sir Sicoma Monini Perugia faced a similar challenge on the road, in Spain, in Pool C.
After dominating the opening sets against Guaguas Las Palmas, Perugia were dragged into a decider by a spirited home comeback.
Experience proved decisive in the fifth set, in which the Italians regrouped themselves to secure another important victory ended with the score of 2-3 (23:25, 20:25, 25:22, 25:16, 10:15).
There was no such drama in Pool E for Cucine Lube Civitanova, who continued their perfect run with a commanding straight-sets win 0-3 (17:25, 17:25, 13:25) away in Belgium, on the field of Volley Haasrode Leuven, controlling the match throughout and remain top of the group.
The night ended with celebrations in France, as Montpellier HSC VB thrilled a sold-out home crowd after a great 3-2 (25:21, 22:25, 27:25, 22:25, 15:12) dramatic win over Polish powerhouse PGE Projekt Warszawa.
