Round 18 of 2025/26 Plusliga started today with the epic comeback of Energa Trefl Gdańsk on the field of Cuprum Stilon Gorzów, 2-3 (26:24, 25:19, 17:25, 19:25, 9:15).
After a hard-fought first set, the hosts conquered also second one without major problems but, after trailing 2-0, Gdańsk regrouped to win the next three with a strong performance in attack, including the decisive fifth one ended 9-15.
MVP Tobias Brand was the man of the match with 24 points to his name through 55% in attack, 2 winning blocks and 1 ace, well supported by Piotr Orczyk and Aliaksei Nasevich also in double digit with 19 and 14, respectively, while Mathis Henno replied with a strong performance chipping in 26 points through 57% in attack and 1 block for Gorzów, who despite the disappointed result earned a very important point for the standings, but he wasn’t enough.
Round 18 will continue on Saturday with other three games: Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie will welcome PGE GiEK SKRA Bełchatów, ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle will face Asseco Resovia Rzeszów in a big classic of Polish volleyball while, in the evening, PGE Projekt Warszawa will welcome Barkom Każany Lwów.
