Fifth week of 2025/26 CEV Champions League has been completed today with last four games and, with it, also seven teams already qualified to final phase of European club’s elite competition.
Ziraat Bankkart Ankara from Türkiye, Bogdanka LUK Lublin and Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie from Poland, Trentino Itas, Cucine Lube Civitanova and Sir Sicoma Monini Perugia from Italy.
About Perugia, in Pool C, today swept VK Lvi Praha in Czech Republic, winning the clash with a clean 0-3 (13:25, 18:25, 17:25) without problems. With the only exception of middle-blocker Agustin Loser, forced to leave the court in second set due an injury. For Perugia, this was fifth win in as many games!
Setter Simone Giannelli earned MVP honors also scoring 7 points including 2 aces and 1 block.
Meanwhile, in Spain, on the same Pool, third-placed Guaguas Las Palmas Berlin down Recycling Volleys from Germany after a hard-fought 3-1 (22:25, 30:28, 25:21, 26:24), despite 37 (!!!) points from an amazing Jake Hanes (65% in attack, with 2 aces and 2 blocks).
Fifth win in as many games also for Bogdanka LUK Lublin, who needed five sets to prevail in Türkiye on the field of Halkbank Ankara, 2-3 (26:24, 16:25, 24:26, 26:24, 11:15). MVP Hilir Henno led the winners with 26 points through 64% in attack, 4 aces and 1 block.
Close the picture the 1-3 (21:25, 17:25, 25:22, 23:25) win of Trentino Itas on the field of Slovenia’s ACH Volley Ljubljana to celebrate qualification with second place in Pool A, with another grean performance from Theo Faure, author of as many as 30 points through 54% in attack, 6 of his team’s 13 aces and 3 winning blocks.
A strong support also came from Flavio Gualberto, who added 16 points through 77% in attack (10/13), 1 ace and 5 blocks.
