Semifinals of 2025/26 Plusliga started yesterday with the win of Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie, continued today with No.3 in regular season Bogdanka LUK Lublin who claimed a valuable away victory over No.2 PGE Projekt Warszawa, winning 1-3 (27:25, 14:25, 24:26, 22:25) in the opening PlusLiga semifinal clash at Torwar Arena.
The hosts start the contest strongly, taking a tight first set 27β25, but Lublin quickly turned the tide, dominating the second set 25β14 and held their nerve in two close finishes, winning 26β24 and 25β22 to secure the match.
Wilfredo Leon led the charge with 25 points to his name, while Mateusz Malinowski added 17 and earned MVP honors, adding five aces and a block. For the team from countryβs capital, Bartosz Bednorz scored 20 points, with Bartosz GomuΕka and Kevin Tillie adding 17 and 15 respectively.
Despite even attacking efficiency, Lublinβs superiority on serve and fewer errors proved to be decisive.
The series now moves to Lublin, where the hosts have a strong lead to seal a place in the final.
Both Games 2 of best of three series on Saturday, April 18.
