2025/26 Plusliga best-of-five series for 3rd Place started today with PGE Projekt Warszawa who needed five sets to prevail over Asseco Resovia Rzeszow, 3-2 (20:25, 29:27, 24:26, 25:19, 15:11), in front of their home fans, despite the rivals’ 16 winning blocks!
Kévin Tillie led the winners with 23 points to his name through 58% in attack, 1 block and MVP honors, while Bartosz Gomułka and Jakub Kochanowski (85% in attack, 4 blocks and 2 aces!) also contributed with 17 each.
It seems a good start for the team from country’s capital, if it weren’t for the injury of Bartosz Bednorz, forced to left the court in fourth set, not a good news, waiting for 2026 Champions League final four in Turin, Italy, in which they’ll face Perugia in first semifinal.
