After an almost one-sided Game 1 won by Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie in straight sets, 2025/26 Plusliga best-of-five final series continued today with a thrilling 3-1 (21:25, 25:21, 25:23, 29:27) home win of Bogdanka LUK Lublin.
The visiting side started strong, winning first set 25-21 but, in second one, Lublin replied taking an early 12-5 lead and, despite Zawiercie tried to recover closing the gap 15-14, the home team was better in key moments, closing the contest with the same result, 25-21.
Third and fourth sets were played at very high level, with Aluron who take a lead 10-13 in third one, but then the home side managed to close it with the minimum gap, and the same happened in fourth one, closed 29-27 by Lublin, despite a strong performance from Bartłomiej Bołądź, top scorer of the match with 27 points to his name through 56% in attack, 1 block and 2 aces, and 18 from Aaron Russell, MVP of Game 1.
Wilfredo Leon earned MVP honors after scoring 22 points for the winners through 57% in attack and 1 ace after 2 hours and 4 minutes of play!
