France: end of season for Lukas Maase

Hardly defeated by Montpellier in Game 1 of 2025/26 Marmara SpikeLigue final, Poitiers also have to deal with an injury to middle blocker Lukas Maase. Due a shoulder injury, the German international is forced to end his season prematurely, a major blow before Game 2 on the field of the rivals.
The 27-year-old German middle blocker (2.14 m), who joined the club this summer and previously played for Paris and Chaumont since coming to France in 2023, was forced to leave the court in the second set after a float serve, and did not return to the game.
In a statement released this Sunday, the Poitiers club confirmed that medical examinations revealed a dislocated shoulder, ending his season.
This is a significant absence for Game 2, reducing the options as the middle blocker position, with Simon Magnin and Canadian Pearson Eshenko expected in the starting six in decisive act scheduled for Friday, May 8.
