As widely anticipated for several months, it has only been made official by the club today: Nik Mujanović is a new Modena Volley player.
The Slovenian opposite hitter joins the Italian side after a standout season in France with Tours Volley-Ball.
Born in 2004 and standing 206 cm tall, he began his career in 2018 with Calcit Volley Kamnik’s second team in Slovenia. Promoted to the senior squad in 2020, he spent four seasons with the club, winning two Slovenian Cups and one MEVZA League title.
In the 2023/24 season, he had his first experience abroad with the jersey of Italian SuperLega side Vero Volley Monza, a campaign that ended with appearances in three finals: the SuperLega Championship, the Italian Cup, and the CEV Cup.
The following year, he moved to France, first joining Paris Volley and later Alterna Stade Poitevin as a playoff reinforcement, helping the team reach the league final.
In last season with Tours, he finished first in the regular season standings, won the French Super Cup, and earned the individual award for Best Opposite of the French league.
Since 2022, he has also been a member of the Slovenian national team, winning two bronze medals, both in 2023: one at the European Championship and another at the World Cup.
According to (unverified) rumors from some Italian media, if Modena do not sign another high-profile outside hitter following the departure of Vlad Davyskiba, head coach Lorenzo Tubertini could deploy Mujanović in a diagonal pairing with the already confirmed Luca Porro.
