League Round of CEV Volleyball European League 2026 has been completed today with The Netherlands, Finland, and Israel delivered another great performances on Sunday when the main phase of the competition reached its conclusion. And they join Denmark not only in the semifinals of the competition but also in EuroVolley 2028!

The Netherlands were the only team that not lose a single set in the so far, completing a clean sweep of their six matches without conceding nothing to their rivals. Today they claimed a sixth consecutive 3-0 win with a success against hosts Bosnia and Herzegovina (25:16, 25:18, 25:19) in GoraΕΎde, and they did it with 14 points from Silvester Meijs (65% in attack, 2 blocks and 1 ace).
Finland got the job done with an easy 0-3 (14:25, 15:25, 12:25) win over modest Iceland to claim second place in the final standing with six wins and 18 points, one more than third-placed Denmark, and three sets conceded in their path, to remain in contention for another continental triumph, as last year they emerged victorious from the European Golden League! After just 64 minutes of play, Niko Suihkonen emerged as top scorer with 14 points, all in attack, with 74% success rate, well supported by an almost perfect Viktor Viljamaa who added 13 (91% in attack with 1 block and 2 aces), and Severi Savonsalmi, also in double digit with 10.
Israel, bronze medal winners of the Golden League in 2025, complete the top four, as they finished with six wins and 17 points, the same as Denmark, but with a lower set ratio. Absolute star of the night in their four-sets win over hosts Kosovo in Prishitine, 1-3 (26:24, 18:25, 21:25, 16:25), Shay Liberman author of another great game scoring today as many as 35 points through an impressive 76% in attack and 1 block. He also closed this part of the competition as top scorer!

As per the final standing of the League Round, Israel will first host the Netherlands on neutral ground and subsequently play the return semi-final game in Holland. Meanwhile, Denmark will welcome their neighbours from Finland before travelling to the EuroVolley 2026 co-hosts for the away semi-final game.

Either way, even if these four teams were the only ones to complete the League Round with a perfect record of six wins, the competition was highly exciting, with three teams eliminated with only one less point in the final standings: Greece, Estonia and Czech Republic, all with 16 points.
The first one defeated a combative Luxembourg 0-3 (22:25, 22:25, 31:33) with 24 points from Angelos Markou, Estonia sweep Montenegro with the same result, 0-3 (22:25, 20:25, 18:25), while Czech Republic trampled over Georgia also in straight sets, with a first set ended 25-5 (5:25, 13:25, 20:25)!
Other results of today included a four sets win for Albania over Romania, 3-1 (25:23, 25:19, 17:25, 25:16), in what was their first win of the competition, claimed in front of their home fans in Tirana, led by Anton Qafarena, top scorer of the match with 20 points, a four sets win too for Portugal over hosts Azerbaijan in Baku, 1-3 (25:21, 16:25, 12:25, 19:25), and a straight sets win of Switzerland against hosts Norway, 0-3 (20:25, 23:25, 20:25).
