Second week of Volleyball Nations League 2026 continued today in Gliwice (Poland), Ljubljana (Slovenia) and Orléans (France) featuring 2 games in each European city.
Argentina earned second consecutive victory, defeating China 3-0 (25:22, 25:19, 25:22) in Pool 5 in Poland.
The winners, led by Luciano Vicentin who scored a match-high 15 points through 65% in attack, pulled away midway through the opening set before reject a late Chinese rally.
The South Americans carried the momentum also into the second set, closed by a serve error by China.
The third set remained close until Argentina produced a decisive late run with Vicentin himself serving, and Manuel Armoa closed the match with the winning point.
Agustín Loser and German Alfredo Gomez added nine points apiece, while Nicolas Zerba contributed seven.
Argentina requested to play the match with black armbands in honor of Argentinian volleyball legend Daniel Castellani, who passed away on Thursday.
The match between European neighbors Germany and Belgium in Gliwice also ended in four sets, 3-1 (25:22, 19:25, 25:23, 25:19) in favor of Germany.
Opposite Yann Bohme top-scored the winners with 18 points, well supported by outside hitters Erik Rohrs with 17 and Tobias Brand with 14.
Two Belgian players, outside hitter Pierre Perin and opposite Ferre Reggers, shared the top scorer honors of the match with 23 points each. Germany and Belgium are neighbors in the standings as well, in 11th place on 3-3 and 9, and in 12th place on 3-4 and 9, respectively, separated just on set ratios.
