Miłosz Zniszczoł stays with reigning champions Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie!
The upcoming season will be his sixth wearing the club’s jersey and his 17th in the PlusLiga. Last season, he won the Polish Championship, finished as CEV Champions League runner-up, and claimed the bronze medal at the FIVB Club World Championship.
“I’m staying in Zawiercie because, during the five seasons I’ve spent with this club, I’ve fulfilled several of my sporting dreams, one of which was definitely winning the Polish Championship. I feel great within this team. I truly value working with our coaching staff and the atmosphere our fans create in the arena. I believe we still have many great moments ahead of us, and I’ll do everything I can to keep helping the team fight for more success,” said 39-years-old middle blocker.
About middle blockers, Patryk Niemiec returns to Trefl Gdańsk, where he previously played from 2016 to 2019 and again from 2022 to 2024. The upcoming campaign will mark his sixth season in the club.
“Returning to Gdańsk is something truly special for me. This is where I took my first steps in the PlusLiga and gained experience at the highest level. Over the past few years, I’ve learned a lot and grown as a player, so I’m very happy to once again represent Energa Trefl Gdańsk. I know the incredible atmosphere the fans create here and what this club stands for. I can’t wait to begin preseason and meet my new teammates and the fans,” he said.
In Italy, Allianz Milano celebrated club president Lucio Fusaro’s birthday by announcing the signing of Bulgarian World Championship silver medalist Georgi Tatarov, an outside hitter already announced on our list of official wold transfers weeks ago, while young middle blocker Luca Tauletta has officially joined Modena.
At the same time, Rana Verona announced the signing of libero Leonardo Scanferla. From 2019 to 2025, he represented Piacenza, winning the Italian Cup in 2023, while last season he played for Monza.
“I’m thrilled to begin this new adventure in Verona. As soon as I received the call, I had no doubts. As an opponent, I’ve always admired the club’s journey and the incredible atmosphere in the arena, which always inspires the team. I can’t wait to get to work, give everything for this jersey, and help the team achieve ambitious goals,” he said in the official club’s statement.
Rana Verona Sporting Director Adi Lami added: “Leonardo is a player who has consistently demonstrated professionalism and outstanding quality in his position over the past few years. His experience at the highest levels of both Italian and international volleyball, including with the Italian national team, will be a valuable asset for our group. We are confident that his arrival will further strengthen the team’s identity and competitiveness as we prepare to compete in our first European campaign.”
In Japan, Japan national team setter Ryu Yamamoto has officially signed with South Korea’s Korean Air Jumbos for the 2026–27 season. Meanwhile, in Japan, Nippon Steel Sakai Blazers have officially announced the signings of Brazilian opposite Chizoba Neves Atu, Estonian middle blocker Alex Saaremaa, who spent last season in France with Chaumont, and Spanish outside hitter Jordi Ramón from Italy’s Itas Trentino.
On the international stage, the opening day of the U22 Men’s European Championship in Portugal saw victories for Italy, who swept Bulgaria 3–0, Israel, who defeated Ukraine 3–0, and both Poland and France in five-set matches. Poland edged the host nation Portugal, while France outlasted the Czech Republic.
Today, on Day 2, Ukraine defeated Poland in five sets, while Italy suffered a four-set loss to the Czech Republic. Later today, Israel will face host nation Portugal, while Bulgaria will take on France.
