Italian powerhouse A.S. Volley Lube announce the signing of Canadian middle blocker Jackson Howe, one of the standout blockers of the Canadian national team.
Fresh from a season in Germany with SVG LĂźneburg, the 1998-born middle blocker has impressed for Canada during the first two weeks of the Volleyball Nations League, played in Canada and Slovenia, and he is also set to compete in the third week of the VNL in Japan.
Now he leads the Volleyball Nations League in blocking with 33 kill blocks, ten more than Turkeyâs Bedirhan BĂźlbĂźl, who currently sits second in the competitionâs blocking rankings. At Lube, Jackson will reunite with fellow Canadian Eric Loeppky, his former college teammate and friend, who recently extended his contract with the club through 2028.
Howe developed at Trinity Western University between the 2017/18 and 2021/22 seasons. During his collegiate career, he won three Canada West Championships (2017/18, 2019/20 and 2021/22) and finished runner-up once (2018/19). He also captured the U Sports Championship title in 2018/19, adding two silver medals in the competition (2017/18 and 2021/22).
He then spent three seasons in France with Alterna Stade Poitevin Poitiers, helping the club finish as French league runners-up in 2024/25 and reach third place in the French Cup in both 2022/23 and 2023/24. During the 2025/26 season, Howe played for SVG LĂźneburg, winning the German Cup while finishing runner-up in Bundesliga, the German Super Cup and the CEV Cup.
With the Canadian national team, he has won two Pan American Cup gold medals (2023 and 2024), one silver medal in the same competition (2021), and a silver medal at the 2021 NORCECA Championship.
Among his individual awards are the award for Best Blocker in the 2025/26 German Bundesliga, Best Middle Blocker at the 2024 Pan American Cup, both Best Spiker and Best Blocker at the 2021 Pan American Cup, and Best Spiker honors in both the U Sports Championship and the Canada West Championship during the 2019/20 season.
