In Italy, Cisterna Volley officially welcomed Noa Duflos-Rossi yesterday, marking the beginning of a new chapter ahead of the upcoming season.
The new outside hitter explained in official statement why he chose to join the club:
“I wanted a team that would give me the opportunity to play, develop, and earn a starting role. Everyone spoke of Cisterna as the ideal environment for a young player who wants to improve. Now I want to repay the club’s trust and prove my value every single day.”
Club President Massimiliano Marini extended a warm welcome while looking beyond the court, addressing the entire Cisterna community:
“Every new season begins with great enthusiasm. We want to give our fans Sundays filled with joy, passion, and excitement. We believe in this group, and we want to build a different kind of season, with a packed arena that becomes our greatest strength.”
His words reflect the club’s philosophy, a vision also emphasized by Sporting Director Candido Grande: “We have great faith in Noa’s potential. He needed a team where he could find continuity and continue his development. He perfectly represents our project: a young team with talent, enthusiasm, and a strong desire to work hard.”
The presentation concluded with remarks from head coach Daniele Morato, who is ready to guide both Noa and the rest of the squad through a new stage of growth:
“Noa is a player with significant qualities and tremendous room for improvement. He will have the time and the tools to develop, but above all he will find a group that is willing to work every day with humility and ambition. That is the spirit with which we want to approach the new season.”
In Japan, 4x SV.League Champion outside hitter Alain Jr. de Armas has officially signed with Toray Arrows Shizuoka for the 2026–27 season.
The club strengthen their roster for the 2026–27 SV.League season, officially adding other three new international reinforcements:
• Skyler Varga – Outside Hitter (Canada)
• Gabi Garcia – Opposite (USA)
• Edoardo Caneschi – Middle Blocker (Italy)
They join returning American middle blocker Taylor Averill, giving Toray Arrows Shizuoka a strong group of foreign players for the upcoming campaign.
2026 Volleyball Nations League Women: Türkiye keeps their championship dreams alive! The 2023 VNL Champions dropped a tight opening set but stormed back to defeat Canada 3-1 (22:25, 25:21, 25:21, 25:17), officially moving on to the Semifinals!
In last stunning quarterfinal clash, the 8th-seeded Chinese squad outlasted the No. 1 seed USA in five sets (15:25, 25:23, 25:20, 17:25, 15:13).
Despite finishing 9th in the preliminary phase, China completely defied the odds to secure their spot in the final four. They will face Türkiye next with a championship match appearance on the line, while Brazil and Italy will open Semifinals day on Saturday in Macao in a remake of last year’s final.
Meanwhile, back to the Men’s competitions, Korea defeated Brazil in their first friendly match, coming from a set down to win in four sets: 22:25, 25:21, 25:23, 25:20.
The two teams will face each other again in two more friendly matches on July 25 and 26.
Kazakhstan opened its 2026 CAVA Men’s Volleyball Championship campaign with a hard-fought victory over Nepal in Islamabad, Pakistan: 25:19, 25:21, 32:34, 19:25, 15:9.
The CAVA Men’s Volleyball Championship is the premier men’s national team competition organized by the Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA), one of the five regional zonal associations operating under the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC).
The tournament brings together national teams from Central and South Asia, providing them with the opportunity to compete for the regional title while promoting the continued growth and development of volleyball across the region. Over the past few years, the championship has steadily increased in both quality and competitiveness, reflecting the rapid progress of volleyball in several CAVA member nations.
The 2026 edition is being held in Islamabad, Pakistan, featuring six participating teams: Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. The competition begins with a single round-robin stage, where each team faces every other team once, before advancing to the semifinals and medal matches to determine the champion.
As one of Asia’s most important regional tournaments, the CAVA Men’s Volleyball Championship continues to play a significant role in strengthening international competition and showcasing the rising standard of volleyball throughout Central and South Asia.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh pulled off a stunning upset in its opening match edging Uzbekistan in an intense five-set battle: 25:20, 26:28, 26:24, 21:25, 15:12
Host nation Pakistan kicked off its campaign with a dominant straight-sets win over Sri Lanka on home soil in Islamabad: 25:16, 25:15, 25:18.
The same Sri Lanka who secured its first win of the tournament after outlasting Nepal in five sets: 25:18, 21:25, 19:25, 25:21, 15:10.
A heartbreaking defeat for Nepal, which suffers its second consecutive five-set loss of the tournament.
Reigning Leg 1 champions Cambodia swept Alas Pilipinas to secure their first victory in 6th SEA V Cup – Leg 2, closing out the preliminary round with a 1-1 record: 25:20, 25:21, 26:24.
Meanwhile, Thailand pulled off a stunning reverse sweep against Vietnam, rallying from two sets down to win 23:25, 15:25, 25:18, 25:21, 15:12, finishing 2-0 atop Pool B and advancing to the semifinals.
