Tinet Prata di Pordenone has made a late and significant change to its roster just days before entering a new chapter in the club’s history.
The newly promoted SuperLega side has announced the consensual termination of Efe Bayram’s contract, bringing an unexpectedly short end to the Turkish outside hitter’s time in Friuli.
Efe Bayram had arrived in Prata during the summer after four seasons in SuperLega with Cisterna Volley, where he established himself as a regular presence in Italy’s top division.
In 24 appearances during the 2025/26 season, the 24-year-old scored 210 points, including 175 in attack, and finished his four-year Cisterna spell with 918 SuperLega points.
His departure, however, is already linked to a new opportunity.
Bayram is set to return to Türkiye and join Ziraat Bankkart, adding another international player to a club that reached the CEV Champions League Final Four in Turin last season and finished the competition with a bronze medal.
For Bayram, the move also marks a return to the country where his professional career began.
The Ankara-born outside hitter came through the Halkbank system before moving into senior volleyball and eventually establishing himself in Italy. He has also become an important part of the Turkish national-team programme, winning the European Golden League in 2023 and the Volleyball Challenger Cup in the same year after taking silver in the Golden League in 2022.
Prata, meanwhile, moved quickly to find a replacement — and the solution comes from one of the most intriguing stories of EuroVolley 2026.
Nooa Marttila is set to leave France and Arago de Sète for Italy after a remarkable European Championship with Finland.
The 21-year-old outside hitter was one of the revelations of the tournament, helping Finland reach the Final Four for the first time and earning a place in the official EuroVolley All-Star Team alongside Poland’s Wilfredo León as one of the competition’s two best outside hitters.
Marttila had been expected to continue his development in France with Sète, where he was due to play his second consecutive season. His performances with Finland changed the picture. Throughout EuroVolley, the young Finn demonstrated the combination of attacking quality, reception skills and physical potential that had already made him one of the most interesting players of his generation.
His international rise has been remarkably rapid. Marttila has represented Finland at every level from the junior categories upwards and had already appeared at EuroVolley 2023 before becoming one of the central figures of the Finnish team’s historic 2026 campaign.
For Prata, the timing could hardly be more significant.
The club is preparing for its first-ever season in SuperLega after completing a remarkable rise through the Italian divisions, and the arrival of Marttila adds a player coming directly from one of the most impressive national-team campaigns of the summer.
It also gives the Finnish international an opportunity to test himself in one of the world’s deepest domestic leagues at a crucial stage of his development.
At 21, Marttila now moves from Sète to Prata with the attention generated by his EuroVolley performances — and with the chance to turn an exceptional summer into the beginning of an important new chapter at club level.
What began as an unexpected change to Prata’s plans has therefore produced a fascinating exchange of paths: Bayram heads back to Türkiye and a new challenge with Ziraat Bankkart, while Marttila moves in the opposite direction, from France to Italy and into the SuperLega spotlight.
For Prata, the objective remains unchanged: build a competitive team for its historic first season at the highest level.
The route to get there, however, has changed significantly in the space of just a few days.
