The fourth round of Türkiye’s 2026/27 SMS Grup Efeler Ligi brought another busy Saturday, with Gebze Belediyesi Spor and Halkbank continuing to set the pace at the top of the standings. Both teams extended their winning streaks and remain unbeaten, while Ziraat Bankkart had to dig deep to preserve their perfect record in a dramatic encounter away to On Hotels Alanya Belediyespor.
The most compelling match of the day took place in Alanya, where Ziraat Bankkart recovered from a 1-2 deficit to claim a 3-2 victory (19:25, 25:19, 25:27, 27:25, 15:7). Alanya took the opening set and edged a closely contested third to move within one set of victory. Ziraat responded by winning a tense fourth set 27-25 before taking complete control in the tie-break, where they conceded just seven points. The Ankara side collected two points rather than three, but extended its unbeaten run to four matches.
Gebze Belediyesi Spor also had to work for its victory, defeating İstanbul Gençlik Spor 3-1 (25:21, 25:19, 17:25, 25:23). The league leaders looked comfortable after taking the first two sets, but İstanbul Gençlik fought back in the third, winning it 25-17. The hosts regained their composure in the fourth, closing out the match 25-23 to secure their fourth consecutive victory and remain the only team with a perfect points record.
Halkbank, meanwhile, delivered one of the most convincing performances of the round. They swept Akedaş Onikişubat Belediye Spor 3-0 (25:15, 25:20, 25:17), controlling the match from the outset and never allowing their opponents to reach 21 points in any set. The Ankara side thus recorded its fourth win in as many matches, continuing a strong start to the campaign.
Fenerbahçe Medicana also returned to winning ways, beating İBB Spor Kulübü 3-1 (21:25, 25:18, 25:21, 25:15). İBB took the opening set, but Fenerbahçe gradually found its rhythm, winning the next three and finishing the match strongly. The result gives Fenerbahçe an important boost after its defeat against Ziraat Bankkart in the previous round.
Galatasaray Madeş Mobilya secured a straight-set victory over Sultanbeyli Belediyespor (25:23, 25:17, 25:22), although the visitors remained competitive in the opening and closing sets. Spor Toto also claimed three points, defeating Sungurlu Belediyespor 3-1 (25:20, 20:25, 25:23, 25:19). After the teams shared the first two sets, Spor Toto edged a crucial third before closing out the match in four.
The round’s other straight-set victory belonged to Altekma, who defeated Gaziantep Gençlik Spor 3-0 (31:29, 25:23, 25:23). The scoreline suggests a much tighter contest than a routine sweep: all three sets were decided by a margin of just two points, with the opening set going beyond the usual 25-point threshold before Altekma finally prevailed 31-29.
After four rounds, Gebze Belediyesi Spor lead the standings with 12 points, followed by Halkbank on 11 and Ziraat Bankkart on 10. Galatasaray Madeş Mobilya have moved up to nine points, while Fenerbahçe Medicana have reached eight. The early-season picture is beginning to take shape, but with the leading teams still unbeaten, the race at the top remains wide open.
