Austrian defending champions UVC Holding Graz suffered a 0-3 (20:25, 17:25, 21:25) home defeats over Mevza League table leaders and title holders ACH Volley Ljubljana on Friday night.
The winners have not dropped a single point in the eight matches they have played so far, while Graz, on the other hand, are currently sitting in sixth place in the standing with four points with a 1-5 win-loss record. Among the hosts, no player reached a double digit, with Lorenz RΓΆssl and Michael Ladner who were the top scorer with seven points each, while ACH Volleyβs Jure Orkoglic topped the match scorers with a total of 11 points.
Competition will continue today: on Saturday, SK Zadruga AICH/DOB (third) will be facing OK MERKUR Maribor (second), while OK Calcit Kamnik (fifth) will be hosting TJ Spartak Myjava (seventh).
βWe have our back to the wall after a bad start in the season. Therefore, we must win all the coming matches in the main round. There is nothing more to say,β said Kamnikβs Jan Klobucar.
The 28-year-old outside hitter has been struggling with injury problems in the past weeks. βBut now it is getting better and better, I also felt quite good on the court on Wednesday.β
