In a big match that closed Round 11 of 2021/22 Polish Plusliga, Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie, after two straight defeats, prevailed over PGE Skra Bełchatów and took over their fourth place in the charts.
It does not happen often that a team takes one set 25-10, but eventually loses the match!
But that is exactly what happened to Belchatow side today, putting an end to its winning streak of three games.
They made a great comeback from 21-18 to 23-25 in fourth set, and then from 12-10 to 12-13 in fifth, but Aluron reached match point with a block on Ebadipour (14-13).
Belchatow canceled 5 match point to turn the tables with an ace from Taht, on the field in place of Kooy: 18-19. But, at that point, Aluron saved 6 match points until 24-24, to close the match with a winning block from Niemiec over Klos (25-24) and a pipe by Conte (26-24) after a great defense on Atanasijevic.
Dawid Konarski, MVP of the match, top-scored the winners with 22 points (56% i. attack, 44% efficiency, 2 blocks and one ace), while Miłosz Zniszczoł made as many as seven blocks!
